I wanted to give a heads up to my neighborhood group of a robbery which occurred at a residence I have listed on San Ramon in the Estados De La Mancha neighborhood by Cochise Elementary.

Thieves appeared to have entered the home by pushing up the electric garage door and propping it up halfway with a pool skimmer pole between 1am and 5am this morning. I’m told this is possible with garage doors even though connected to an attached and automatic garage door. They attempted to remove appliances; however it seems they dropped the refrigerator in the garage while trying to load it on to a truck or flatbed pickup. They also attempted to remove an inset cooktop with a crowbar, and cracked it. Removal of wall ovens was also attempted. Ultimately, the thieves made off with tools, a wet vac, and mirrors from the master bedroom. The Scottsdale police were contacted, and responsive and very thorough by dusting the residence for fingerprints. There is suspicion that someone might have been watching the home during some renovations over the last 2 weeks. A friendly reminder for everyone to always lock the door between your home and your garage, and to engage your security alarm when retiring, if you have one. Many thanks to the neighbors who contacted me early this morning upon noticing the garage door propped open. Without attempting to be an alarmist, I urge everyone to keep your eyes open and to remain vigilant in watching the surrounding homes on your block – and to please contact the police with anything deemed suspicious. As a side note, I am noticing many packages delivered and sitting at front doors during this holiday season. When possible, consider having a neighbor pick up your packages until you return home.
