Product Launched to Stop Garage Door Break-ins
In October, the Garage Shield was introduced
to help prevent thieves from breaking into garages. The device, a simple addition to a garage door opener, blocks thieves from reaching the emergency release mechanism with a coat hanger.
In what is sometimes called “the 6-second break-in,” thieves use a block of wood to create an opening above the door’s top section, then thread the coat hanger through to pull the release. The Garage Shield requires no tools, installs
in seconds, and does not interfere with opener operation. Once installed correctly, it does not require maintenance.
“Our Garage Shield has become very popular as a commonsense solution to a major problem,” said Alex Wolfram of TheGarageShield.com.
“It represents an excellent tool for garage door companies, security rms, and locksmiths to offer.” www.thegarageshield.com
