“On Monday, Sept. 7, Holly police responded to a home in the 400 block of Rosette to investigate a breaking and entering complaint. Police made contact with the 83-year-old home-owner. The resident said he left his home at 2:30 p.m. that day and when he returned at 7:15 p.m., he noticed that the door of his attached garage was open. The door was being held open with a lawn chair. The resident said a 2½ gallon gas can and a six-pack of Bud Light was missing. No entry to the home was made. It appeared that the suspect pushed open the top panel of the garage door to pull on the emergency release lever to open the door. They then placed the chair under the door to keep it open. The case remains under investigation.”
The following is an actual report from a news source of a garage door break in. In this home owner’s case there was gas and beer stolen. How many other valuable items are stored in a garage, specifically your garage? There is not much detail in the report of how the burglars entered the garage. Yet, one way they could do it with no sign of forced entry is a technique called the 6-second break-in. Within 6 seconds a thief can shove a wedge up the top panel of the garage door to pry it open, stick a hanger through the opening to pull the release from the door off the track, and then open the door completely, exposing all the contents of your garage and possibly your entire home. The garage shield is a simple anti-theft device that prevents crooks from releasing the door from the track so the burglars can get in. Order the garage shield to protect your home today.
